Responsibilities
- Lead the design and worldwide deployment of a central platform used across multiple trading and research teams
- Participate in a rapid, iterative development cycle with direct feedback from traders or quantitative researchers
- Build tools and frameworks that enable data-driven strategy development and pricing model tuning
- Collaborate with engineers, quants, and technical traders to define needs, gather input, and refine system designs
- Develop software that interfaces with financial exchanges via APIs, handling market data and order submission using protocols like FIX, WebSockets, and HTTP
- Maintain, extend, and execute test suites to ensure software correctness and reliability
- Improve exchange connectivity by implementing kernel bypass techniques, optimizing TLS, or refining connection management
- Analyze exchange behavior to closely mirror their operational patterns in internal systems
- Develop solutions using exchange-provided SDKs in C++, Rust, Python, or TypeScript
- Code trading algorithms based on specifications from traders and quantitative analysts
- Develop domain expertise in trading systems to accurately interpret business requirements into technical implementations
- Enhance the performance, stability, and reliability of the core trading engine
- Work with the Trading Operations team to strengthen system monitoring and observability
- Diagnose and fix live production issues including crashes, logic errors, and performance constraints
- Support release preparation and deployment of new versions of the trading engine
