Responsibilities
- Design and sustain high-scale backend systems and APIs for processing and validating identity documents, ensuring they are secure, reliable, and capable of handling large volumes of verification traffic.
- Partner with product, data science, and infrastructure teams to define and deliver new document verification capabilities, translating business needs and model outputs into efficient backend implementations.
- Lead efforts to enhance code quality, test coverage, system performance, security protocols, and CI/CD workflows within the backend ecosystem, promoting engineering excellence.
- Take ownership of backend architectural decisions, advocating for sound API design, microservices patterns, and secure data management to support scalability and integration.
- Monitor and interpret production metrics and user behavior data to identify performance issues, improve system reliability, and scale infrastructure effectively.
- Support the integration of machine learning and computer vision components into the document verification pipeline, collaborating with data scientists to operationalize model outputs in backend logic.
- Coordinate with frontend and mobile developers to establish well-defined API interfaces, ensure smooth integration, and resolve technical issues impacting end-user experience across platforms.
