NVIDIA is hiring a Senior Software Engineer - Autonomous Vehicles

About the Role

What You'll Do

Take ownership of adapting NVIDIA Drive software for both development and production vehicles, ensuring seamless integration and reliable performance. Diagnose and resolve intricate issues in safety-critical systems, tracing problems from sensor data to functional behavior across the autonomous driving stack.

Support vehicle-level bring-up, including software flashing, on-road testing, and validation under real-world conditions. Analyze system builds and performance data to identify root causes of functional gaps, particularly in emergency braking and steering systems. Ensure full traceability from requirements through testing, maintaining rigorous validation standards.

Collaborate with engineering teams across Europe, the U.S., Asia-Pacific, and India to coordinate timely fixes and drive feature improvements. Work closely with OEM partners and internal groups to implement both immediate resolutions and long-term software enhancements.

  • Proven expertise in embedded software environments, particularly Linux or QNX
  • Strong grasp of Active Safety functions, from design through validation
  • Ability to systematically isolate software and functional issues using logs, data analysis, and cross-team coordination
  • Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
  • Excellent communication skills, with a clear and concise technical reporting style
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to participate in road testing and travel

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced programming skills in C++ and Python
  • Direct experience with sensor-based automotive software, including camera, radar, lidar, GPS, and ultrasound
  • Track record in ADAS feature validation and use-case analysis
  • Familiarity with SoC-based automotive platforms, CUDA, TensorRT, and GPU computing
  • Experience identifying system bottlenecks and recommending architectural improvements in perception, sensor fusion, or motion planning
