Responsibilities
- Create secure, high-performance, and thoroughly tested code for web applications utilizing Ruby on Rails, GraphQL, and React.
- Work alongside product managers, designers, and fellow engineers to outline project needs and technical details.
- Guide and support colleagues through mentoring and considerate code reviews.
- Address and resolve technical problems as part of a collective on-call schedule.
- Drive technical choices and help set team standards and methodologies.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from an accredited institution or equivalent practical experience.
- Effective communication skills with a collaborative approach to teamwork.
- Awareness of industry best practices and current developments.
- Motivation to exert effort and create meaningful outcomes.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and take initiative.
- Eagerness to continuously learn and enhance skills.
- High level of empathy towards users and colleagues.
- Minimum of five years in a software engineering role.
- Proven experience in technical or project leadership.
- Expertise in working with relational databases.
- Proficiency in Ruby on Rails, GraphQL, and React.
- Familiarity with data monitoring and logging tools like Sentry, New Relic, or Data Dog.
Nice to Have
- Background in mobile application development.
- Understanding of UX and UI principles and trends.
- Experience with AWS, Postgres, and Heroku.
- Readiness to use AI tools such as Claude, Gemini, Co-Pilot, or MCP.
