SAS Institute Inc. is hiring a Senior Software Developer to join the Platform Data Interfaces team within Platform Services. In this role, you will be responsible for building and maintaining the critical access layer for application storage solutions in the SAS Viya Platform, primarily using Go (Golang). You’ll maintain and improve these technologies while adhering to SLAs and security compliance, and develop new solutions for data storage and access.
What You'll Do
- Design and develop high-quality, testable, and scalable software solutions within established timelines while adhering to R&D best practices and processes.
- Actively involve other project stakeholders to ensure implementation satisfies functional requirements and is consistent with established R&D standards.
- Participate in project scoping and scheduling; track progress of individual tasks and alert stakeholders of issues blocking or preventing completion of tasks.
- Ensure quality through functional, unit, and performance testing; work closely with testing by providing thorough reviews of test plans.
- Maintain accountability for the entire life cycle of the code, including support for both internal and external consumers.
- In collaboration with technical writers, author appropriate levels of design and technical documentation.
- Participate in open-source projects on behalf of SAS.
- Ensure all applicable security policies and processes are followed to support the organization's secure software development goals.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related quantitative field.
- 8+ years of experience as a developer on large software projects.
- Experience developing applications in Kubernetes.
- Experience developing Kubernetes CRDs and Operators.
