Responsibilities
- Design and manage cloud infrastructure architectures that ensure high availability, security, scalability, and reliability.
- Create and uphold standardized architectural blueprints and design patterns for services, apps, and environments enterprise-wide.
- Develop standardized workflows and best practices for application development, deployment, and maintenance in distributed systems.
- Lead efforts to modernize infrastructure through containerization, Kubernetes, infrastructure as code, and platform unification.
- Enforce governance policies across infrastructure, CI/CD, observability, and operational procedures.
- Define and maintain policies for environment control, access permissions, configuration standards, and change protocols.
- Implement cost optimization strategies such as resource tagging, budget monitoring, capacity right-sizing, reserved instances, and auto-scaling rules.
- Work with engineering and product leaders to align system performance, reliability, and cost efficiency across environments.
- Use DORA metrics and industry benchmarks to improve software delivery and operational outcomes over time.
- Build, manage, and enhance CI/CD pipelines for multiple applications using tools like Git, Azure DevOps, GitLab, or Jenkins.
- Develop and operate automated pipelines for infrastructure provisioning, deployment, and configuration management.
- Implement and maintain monitoring, alerting, and logging solutions to ensure system visibility, uptime, and performance.
- Oversee cloud resources and services to guarantee reliability, security, and scalability.
- Lead incident response activities, including triage, root cause investigation, and post-mortem analysis.
- Maintain and improve incident response procedures, runbooks, and on-call protocols.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to build resilient systems and reduce time to recovery.
- Partner with software engineering, QA, product, and IT teams to solve complex infrastructure, security, and delivery challenges.
- Coach and guide engineers in DevOps practices, platform tools, and operational standards.
- Lead initiatives in DevOps and platform engineering, and communicate progress and plans to stakeholders.
- Initiate and drive departmental projects based on business needs and expertise in modern infrastructure technologies.
- Stay informed about emerging technologies, tools, and practices; assess their applicability to the organization’s technology environment.
