Parser Limited is looking for a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join our Engineering Enablement team. In this role, you will be instrumental in deconstructing our monolithic architecture, revitalizing our technology stack, and embedding quality and resilience into the development lifecycle. You will help shape our future-state platform, drive operational excellence, and foster continuous improvement within a fast-growing multicultural community of tech experts.

What You'll Do

Architect and implement reliable, scalable, and performant systems on Azure, focusing on Java, Kafka, and Couchbase.
Drive modernization by spearheading the adoption of Micronaut, standardizing application templates, and transitioning to managed cloud services.
Enhance operational excellence by improving system observability, alerting, and on-call practices.
Champion automation across the software development lifecycle, from CI/CD pipelines to infrastructure provisioning.
Contribute to a blameless post-incident review process to identify root causes and implement preventative measures.
Develop, maintain, and drive adoption of shared SRE tooling and best practices across engineering teams.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering SRE principles.
Contribute to the overall technical strategy and roadmap for SRE and platform initiatives.

What We're Looking For

Proven experience as a Senior Site Reliability Engineer or similar role, with a strong understanding of SRE principles like error budgets, SLOs/SLIs, and toil reduction.
Extensive hands-on experience designing, deploying, and operating highly available and scalable applications on Microsoft Azure.
Mandatory extensive hands-on experience with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) for container orchestration.
Expert-level proficiency with Java, including experience with modern frameworks like Micronaut or Spring Boot and JVM performance tuning.
Solid understanding and practical experience with distributed systems, microservices architecture, and their associated challenges.
Hands-on experience with an event streaming platform (ideally Kafka) and NoSQL data storage (ideally Couchbase).
Strong scripting skills in languages like Python or Bash and experience with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform or ARM templates and CI/CD pipelines like Azure DevOps or Jenkins.
Experience with monitoring, logging, and alerting tools such as Azure Monitor, Prometheus, Grafana, the ELK Stack, or Splunk.
Exceptional analytical and troubleshooting skills for diagnosing and resolving complex production issues.
Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
