Responsibilities
- Shape product development by applying hands-on offensive security expertise to enhance scanning, fingerprinting, and attack surface visibility
- Detect deficiencies in current vulnerability detection methods, protocol support, and signal coverage
- Perform independent research on new attack methods, exploitation patterns, command-and-control infrastructure, and attacker behaviors using global scan data and custom testing techniques
- Produce and publish technical findings in the form of research papers, blog articles, and presentations for major cybersecurity conferences
- Partner with engineering and product teams to convert research outcomes into actionable features like new scan modules, fingerprints, and risk detection logic
- Lead research on AI-powered threats by designing, testing, and refining autonomous agent frameworks such as self-driving penetration testing systems and LLM-enhanced vulnerability discovery tools
- Define scanning strategies to detect digital footprints left by AI-assisted vulnerability identification tools
- Use red team and penetration testing knowledge to uncover how adversaries deploy and conceal infrastructure
- Transform insights on malicious infrastructure into scalable, automated detection rules
- Serve as a technical authority on offensive tactics, mentoring internal teams and guiding strategic direction
Compensation
For high cost of living areas in the US (San Francisco / Seattle / NYC), the expected salary range is $220,000 USD - $278,000 USD, plus bonus eligibility and equity. For all other US locations, $202,000 USD - $254,000 USD, plus bonus and equity. Outside the US, compensation will be determined using location-specific market data. Pay ranges are localized between 83% and 100% of the base range for remote roles.
