Responsibilities
- Oversee end-to-end management of the Salesforce instance, including configuration, automation, security, data quality, and system performance
- Manage user access structures including roles, profiles, permission sets, and related declarative components such as flows and validation rules
- Convert business requirements from departments like Sales, Customer Success, Marketing, Operations, and Finance into sustainable and documented Salesforce solutions
- Take ownership of the data architecture, including object relationships and automation design
- Collaborate with Revenue Operations analysts to ensure reporting and dashboard functionality is supported by accurate and well-structured backend configurations
- Create custom applications, objects, and tools within Salesforce using App Builder and other point-and-click features
- Lead initiatives to maintain data cleanliness, manage duplicates, and ensure reporting accuracy
- Manage the request intake process for Salesforce changes, assessing effort and impact while setting clear timelines
- Stay informed on Salesforce product updates, new capabilities, and industry best practices, and recommend relevant improvements
- Act as the sole internal authority for all Salesforce configurations and metadata changes, approving any modifications before deployment to production
- Supervise external vendor work by defining project scope, setting priorities, reviewing technical proposals, and validating deliverables against requirements
- Use metadata analysis tools to evaluate change impacts and independently verify recommendations prior to implementation
- Review and adjust permissions for third-party integrations and platform users as internal oversight evolves
- Manage Salesforce Sales Engagement setup for the BDR team, including cadence workflows, work queues, permissions, and dialer integration
- Lead quality assurance efforts for all Salesforce changes, including new features, integrations, and bug fixes
- Develop and execute test plans, regression tests, and coordinate user acceptance testing
- Define and manage the sandbox environment strategy across development, QA, and UAT stages, and oversee deployments via change sets or SFDX
- Serve as the final approval point before any production release
- Keep detailed release notes and a comprehensive change log for every deployment
- Proactively monitor system health, governor limits, and performance metrics
- Diagnose and resolve Salesforce issues promptly, conducting root cause analysis for production incidents
- Identify and reduce technical debt by retiring obsolete fields, flows, objects, and automation processes
- Ensure the Salesforce environment remains organized, efficient, and easy to maintain
- Document all significant system changes, including purpose, functionality, and downstream effects
- Maintain up-to-date architectural documentation covering the data model, core automations, and integrations
