Responsibilities
- Manage the revenue recognition process from contract closeout through financial statement disclosure.
- Lead the month-end close for revenue and cost of revenue by creating and validating accruals, preparing journal entries and account reconciliations, ensuring policy compliance, and developing standard reports.
- Apply judgment to document accounting conclusions in technical memos, adhering to policies and current software revenue recognition rules.
- Collaborate with internal and external auditors to ensure efficient and effective audit completion.
- Identify, advocate for, and implement continuous improvement initiatives for revenue processes, including systems, reporting, and analysis.
- Partner with Finance and Sales leadership on revenue forecasting processes.
Requirements
- Experience applying ASC 606, specifically to enterprise software-as-a-service.
- 3+ years of experience in a large public accounting firm and/or a small to mid-size enterprise software company.
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in business administration, economics, finance, accounting, or a related field.
Nice to Have
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, including the ability to summarize key accounting and operational issues to management.
- Proficiency with NetSuite and/or other revenue recognition accounting systems.
- CPA or ACCA/ACA certification (preferred but not required).
