Visual Concepts is hiring a Senior Rendering Engineer

Responsibilities

  • Develop innovative technical implementations aligned with concept art and artistic vision.
  • Convert art direction into functional rendering code, shaders, and rendering systems.
  • Design and implement new tools and optimized pipelines to enhance content creation efficiency.
  • Identify and resolve visual defects and performance bottlenecks in rendering systems.
  • Collaborate effectively with artists to deliver technically sound and performant visual solutions.
  • Stay current with industry advancements and continuously expand technical expertise.
  • Provide guidance and support to less experienced engineers through mentorship.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Minimum of five years of professional experience in the game or software industry.
  • Proven track record of shipping at least one AAA title on console or PC platforms.
  • Prior experience in a senior-level role focused on graphics or rendering engineering.
  • Strong proficiency in 3D mathematics and its application in graphics programming.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with C and C++ programming languages.
  • In-depth knowledge of modern GPU architectures and low-level graphics APIs on current-generation gaming systems.
  • Demonstrated experience using graphics debugging tools and performance profiling software.
  • Solid familiarity with Unreal Engine’s current rendering and graphics systems.

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with third-party content creation tools such as Houdini, Substance Painter, and Z-Brush, particularly in the context of integrating them into graphics pipelines.
