About the Role
The Senior QA Engineer is responsible for maintaining product quality, reliability, and excellent user experience through a mix of manual and automated testing. This includes designing test cases, executing regression and exploratory tests, identifying defects, and ensuring issues are tracked and resolved. The role also involves building and maintaining scalable test automation frameworks, integrating them into CI/CD pipelines, improving testing efficiency, and collaborating with development teams to prevent defects from reaching end users.
Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive and organized test plans and test cases aligned with product requirements and acceptance criteria.
- Perform exploratory testing to uncover edge cases, usability problems, and unexpected behaviors beyond predefined test scripts.
- Document defects accurately with clear reproduction steps, expected versus actual outcomes, and supporting evidence such as screenshots or logs.
- Collaborate with developers, product managers, and designers to clarify specifications and address quality-related issues.
- Verify fixes by retesting resolved defects to confirm resolution and absence of regression.
- Create, update, and optimize automated test scripts based on functional and acceptance requirements.
- Design and maintain reusable, scalable test automation frameworks that support functional, regression, and performance testing.
- Integrate automated testing into CI/CD workflows through close collaboration with DevOps and development teams.
- Execute automated test suites to validate feature functionality and compliance with quality standards.
- Analyze test failures, determine root causes, and coordinate with developers to resolve issues.
