Samsara is hiring a Senior Product Manager, Device Experience

Responsibilities

• Define the three-year vision for device installation and provisioning, determining how hardware comes online as the platform expands into new products, device types, and geographies.
• Take ownership of installation correctness by setting targets, instrumenting the funnel to make every outcome attributable, and improving the metric quarter over quarter.
• Manage the guided installation and verification flow in the Samsara Fleet app for both professional installers and self-installing customers.
• Develop intelligence to verify correct installation, including checking camera aim, wiring, and signal quality while the installer is still at the vehicle.
• Provide operations leaders with a real-time view of fleet readiness, showing what is installed, verified, and producing data.
• Participate in ride-along installations and customer yard sessions, translating observations into a roadmap that influences hardware, firmware, and software decisions.
• Champion, model, and embed the company's cultural principles as the organization scales globally.

Requirements

• At least 7 years of product management experience delivering products used by external customers.
• A track record of owning a business or product metric and changing its trajectory, with a clear before-and-after example.
• Experience building something from zero to one without a specification, defined customer, or established playbook.
• Sufficient technical depth to be treated as a peer by engineers, demonstrated by a degree in Computer Science or Engineering, prior engineering experience, or proven fluency in system architecture trade-offs.
• Proven ability to operate at both strategic and tactical levels, setting multi-year direction and reviewing screen flow details in the same week.
• Executive-level communication and presence, comfortable presenting and defending strategy to the CEO, CPO, and customers.
• Located in a North American time zone.

Nice to Have

• Experience building mobile products for people who work with their hands in loud, time-pressured, or offline conditions.
• A habit of conducting primary research, with specific examples of insights gained from watching customers that dashboards could not provide.
• Prior work on products where software and hardware are interdependent.
• Experience instrumenting a funnel and running experiments against it.

Compensation
