Responsibilities
- Own the member app end to end: flows, surfaces, interaction patterns, visual system.
- Move from idea to working prototype in hours rather than sprints, using modern tooling including AI-assisted tools.
- Stay close to members, run research to understand what's working, where drop-off occurs, and what journey moments matter most.
- Build and maintain the design system that teammates and AI tooling rely on.
- Partner closely with clinicians, coaches, and care coordinators who use the EMR to ensure consumer-side decisions improve clinician workload.
- Make hard tradeoffs where member clarity, clinician workload, and business economics pull in different directions, and document reasoning.
Requirements
- Has owned a consumer product end to end, from ambiguous problem to shipped outcome with measurable results.
- Can point to what was shipped, what was deliberately left out, and what would be done differently now.
- Fluent with modern design tooling, including AI-assisted tools (e.g., Cursor, v0, Claude, Lovable) that have reshaped senior designers' workflows.
- Has opinions about when AI-generated output is worth keeping and when it isn't.
- Knows how to run research that turns into decisions — not just interviews for their own sake, but research that changes direction or confirms course.
- Comfortable designing in ambiguity: can move fast without a complete brief, make defensible calls with incomplete information, and course-correct without drama when new data arrives.
- Strong written communication: able to defend a decision in two sentences and distinguish between a tradeoff and an excuse.
Nice to Have
- Has shipped clinician-facing tooling or worked with an internally built EMR at a digital health company.
- If no EMR background, ability to articulate how one designs consumer products that sit on top of operational systems.

- Flexible PTO and work from home options.
- Professional development budget and support for continuing education.
