About the Role
This role involves leading highway planning initiatives, coordinating with engineering teams, and delivering transportation projects from concept through to implementation while adhering to policy and environmental standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development of highway and transportation infrastructure plans
- Conduct feasibility studies and corridor assessments
- Prepare and review environmental documentation and compliance reports
- Coordinate with public agencies and stakeholders during project development
- Support public consultation and engagement processes
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and deliverables
- Oversee technical analyses including traffic modeling and safety assessments
- Ensure alignment with regional transportation policies and long-term plans
- Guide junior planners and technical staff on project tasks
- Prepare presentations and reports for client and regulatory review
- Integrate sustainability and resilience principles into transportation planning
- Participate in design reviews and interdisciplinary coordination
- Assist in securing project approvals from regulatory bodies
- Apply knowledge of federal and state transportation regulations
- Utilize GIS and planning software for data analysis and visualization
- Contribute to grant applications and funding proposals
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards and best practices
- Support project procurement and contract management activities
- Collaborate with engineers and designers to refine project scope
- Address community feedback during public review phases
- Ensure consistency with multimodal transportation goals
- Develop alternatives analysis for transportation improvement projects
- Monitor project performance against established metrics
