About the Role
As the Senior Payroll Manager for the APAC region, you will oversee the operational excellence of the payroll function, ensuring accuracy and efficiency for employees across Australia, New Zealand, and Asia. Collaborate with the GM of Payroll to navigate a dynamic legislative environment, ensuring all deliverables meet high compliance standards. Transition the team from manual data entry to an advanced validation model using automation and AI. Champion payroll governance and strategic regional growth, ensuring processes remain robust as the company scales globally as a SaaS provider.

Lead a skilled and diverse team of payroll professionals across Melbourne and New Zealand, fostering a culture of coaching, empowerment, and psychological safety. This role acts as a key partner to the People Experience and Finance teams, ensuring the end-to-end employee journey is supported by timely and accurate information.
The team is currently working on
- Stabilising and refining the recently implemented payroll system to eliminate issues and improve process effectiveness
- Preparing systems and people for the transition to new legislation and other evolving requirements
- Implementing automated integration solutions, potentially using AI, to streamline data flow between systems
- Enhancing process documentation and issue registers to drive maturity and reduce recurring operational bottlenecks
