Parallel Partners is hiring a Senior Network/Infrastructure Engineer, Onsite in Charlotte, NC

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily operations of VMware environments, including lifecycle management, capacity planning, performance optimization, patching, upgrades, backup coordination, and incident resolution
  • Collaborate on virtualization strategy, leading the planning and execution of migrations from VMware to Nutanix platforms with minimal disruption
  • Operate and enhance compute and storage systems such as Cisco UCS and NetApp FAS/AFF, ensuring performance, scalability, and fault tolerance
  • Optimize Microsoft Azure deployments across networking, compute, storage, security, cost, and monitoring functions
  • Maintain and troubleshoot Kubernetes clusters, focusing on reliability, networking, ingress, policy enforcement, and workload performance
  • Develop, deploy, and support containerized applications using Docker, including infrastructure for registries, image management, runtime security, and scaling
  • Implement and monitor Layer 4 and Layer 7 load balancing solutions, including TLS setup and traffic management
  • Design and support enterprise-grade data, voice, and video networks across local, wide, and wireless networks
  • Configure and manage routing, switching, and core network protocols such as TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, QoS, DHCP, and DNS
  • Administer and secure firewall and VPN systems from vendors like SonicWall, Cisco ASA, and Palo Alto, enabling secure remote access
  • Ensure secure internal and external file transfers via SFTP or managed file transfer solutions, managing certificates, access policies, and audit trails
  • Support remediation of vulnerabilities and implement security hardening measures in line with compliance standards such as PCI and SOC
  • Oversee the full lifecycle of SSL/TLS certificates across all infrastructure components
  • Develop automated, repeatable operational processes using Infrastructure-as-Code and configuration management tools to reduce manual effort and errors
  • Enhance system observability through monitoring, alerting, packet analysis, and traffic inspection to prevent and resolve root causes
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors or clients to plan changes, execute upgrades, resolve incidents, and document results
  • Produce and maintain detailed technical documentation including runbooks, network diagrams, and operational standards
