Responsibilities
- Oversee and maintain network systems across all company sites, including local and wide area networks.
- Support and troubleshoot routers, switches, and structured cabling for consistent network performance.
- Handle configuration tasks, system updates, and firmware patches for network devices.
- Plan for future network capacity and fine-tune performance to support business-critical applications with minimal delay and high data transfer rates.
- Administer enterprise-grade wireless networks, including controllers and access points.
- Ensure reliable, secure, and widespread Wi-Fi access throughout office spaces and operational facilities.
- Lead transitions from older to newer wireless standards, such as upgrading from Wi-Fi 6 to Wi-Fi 7 for improved speed and responsiveness.
- Apply proven strategies in wireless design, including SSID organization, channel allocation, and radio frequency tuning.
- Design and deploy SD-WAN solutions to enhance the efficiency and dependability of wide-area connections.
- Assess new networking technologies, including virtualization, automated workflows, and zero-trust security models.
- Propose modern tools and infrastructure upgrades to improve scalability, speed, and protection.
- Keep current with evolving industry trends and recommend technology improvements that align with business goals.
- Set up and manage enterprise firewalls, including platforms like Check Point or Palo Alto.
- Operate and maintain intrusion detection and prevention systems along with virtual private network connections.
- Enforce network security through firewall rules, VLAN segmentation, and access control policies.
- Review security logs and alerts to identify and address potential threats in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to assess vulnerabilities and implement corrective actions.
- Bridge on-premises networks with cloud environments such as Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services.
- Establish and manage secure connections using site-to-site VPN, ExpressRoute, or Direct Connect.
- Support remote access solutions, including VPN and secure access service edge frameworks.
- Ensure remote connectivity meets both performance and security requirements.
- Use monitoring platforms like SolarWinds, PRTG, or equivalent tools to track network health.
- Observe bandwidth consumption, network responsiveness, and system stability.
- Proactively detect and fix network congestion, latency, or equipment failures.
- Monitor key network metrics such as uptime, latency, and packet loss rates.
