About the Role

BAE Systems Intelligence & Security is hiring a Senior Mechanical Engineer in Nashua, NH to develop next-generation threat detection and countermeasure solutions for electronic warfare. In this role, you will own the full product lifecycle for complex defense products, collaborating across disciplines with a focus on Agile hardware development.

What You'll Do

  • Lead mechanical engineering designs, development, integration, test, and production of complex military systems.
  • Generate 3D solid models, drawings, and documentation utilizing GD&T principles.
  • Perform tolerance analyses to assure fit and function.
  • Perform thermal, structural/stress, and modal/vibration analyses.
  • Assess designs against environmental requirements.
  • Develop prototypes and conduct test and verification efforts.
  • Partner with other disciplines and operations to develop solutions adhering to DTUPC, DFT, and DFM requirements.
  • Support resolution of technical issues discovered during manufacture and test.
  • Evaluate and troubleshoot mechanical faults, assessing test failures for root cause.
  • Design test equipment to ensure product performance and integrity.
  • Participate in requirements development, perform technical trade studies, and evaluate technology insertion.
  • Develop and execute test plans, integrating test solutions and providing detailed reports.
  • Participate in new business capture.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 4+ years (or 2+ years with MS ME) designing, testing, and troubleshooting high-reliability embedded systems.
  • Demonstrated understanding of mechanical principles, test methodologies, and ability to work with advanced test equipment.
  • Strong 'hands-on' laboratory experience with instrumentation, equipment, and processes.
  • Active DOD security clearance.
  • US citizenship.

You will collaborate closely with other electrical, mechanical, software, firmware, and test engineers, as well as product managers and stakeholders.
