Renesas Electronics is hiring a Senior Manager, System & Application for its India for India business division, focused on power products. You will own product definition for next-generation solutions and provide critical technical support to customers and internal teams, leveraging your deep technical understanding of power management.
What You'll Do
- Identify market opportunities and collaborate with Marketing, Business Division management, and Sales to exploit them.
- Support Marketing, Sales, and FAEs to facilitate product design-in, providing technical assistance for customer questions, circuit design review, debug, troubleshooting, and field return analysis.
- Use technical knowledge to support business plan activities by analyzing and demonstrating the merit of Renesas solutions versus competitors.
- Provide deep technical support and training to advance commercial success, translating complex ideas for less experienced audiences.
- Work with broader marketing and design teams to develop customer collateral that raises the company's profile.
- Understand market and customer requirements to define product requirements and improve product roadmaps.
- Define the product family roadmap.
- Produce technically detailed Product Requirements and/or design specifications documents.
- Work with design engineering when conflicts arise between requirements, capabilities, and business expectations.
- Interpret device-level system use cases and translate them to product specifications, ensuring they meet customer needs.
- Compare design trade-offs and IP choices to achieve competitive product specifications.
- Participate in FPGA-based design prototyping to verify key features and functions will meet expectations.
- Guide staff in creating Applications Validation Plans to ensure corner cases are covered.
- Perform physical silicon device evaluation at board level based on defined evaluation plans.
- Drive system modelling requirements.
- Support hiring and managing the necessary team as per business need over time.
What We're Looking For
- 12+ years of experience in the power management space, ideally including product definition, with semiconductor companies.
- Bachelor or Masters of Electronics Engineering or related discipline.
- Comfort and ability to collaborate and be effective in an entrepreneurial (fast-paced and ambiguous) environment.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills, with comfort presenting to a wide range of audiences.
- Desire and drive to interact with, as well as ability to build and maintain excellent relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Product ownership mentality.
- Ability to build a strong team and motivate individuals to work out of their comfort zone.
- Self-driven, strongly motivated individual capable of taking full ownership of their activities.
- Understanding of power management applications and products.
- Hands-on experience and ability in lab debugging, probing, and characterizing circuit and silicon using equipment such as power supplies, e-load, oscilloscopes, and spectrum analyzers.
- Board-level analog and digital circuit design expertise and PCB schematic design.
- SIMPLIS or similar circuit simulator experience.
- Understanding of control loop theory and its application in power converters.
- Experience using FEA tools for various thermal, electrical, and magnetic investigations.
- Programming proficiency in C and Python.
- Experience with PCB CAD tools for both schematic and layout.
- Proficiency with a full complement of lab equipment including network analysers, oscilloscopes, and waveform generators.
- Data analysis using Excel or JMP.
- Understanding of AECQ / IATF /ISO26262 (FuSa) (at least basic level).
- Willingness and ability to travel as required.
