Responsibilities
- Stay deeply informed about content and news, monitoring entertainment, lifestyle, sports, and consumer media to identify timely pitching opportunities and authentic client participation in emerging trends.
- Utilize an established network of trusted media contacts across key verticals while continuously building new relationships with editors and journalists.
- Own the media relations process from strategy to execution, driving proactive and reactive outreach plans including brainstorming, pitching, and post-campaign recaps focused on securing earned placements.
- Conduct media audits and research on brands, talent, and trends to develop strategic points of view, and oversee creation of media materials such as lists, pitches, key messaging, and briefing books.
- Play a key role in talent-driven campaigns by leading interview bookings and executing media logistics, including briefing materials and run-of-show documents, and supporting media events with attendance and on-site staffing.
- Serve as the primary media contact in key meetings with account teams, providing strategic counsel and media expertise, and participating in agency brainstorms for client programs and new business.
- Manage multiple projects across accounts with strong organizational skills, handling emails and updates, and maintaining departmental resources like editorial calendars, award trackers, and curated media lists.
- Collaborate as a team player by sharing credit, respecting others, welcoming feedback, and working with teammates to draft and edit work before delivery, contributing new ideas for the team and agency.
- Maintain to-do lists, meet deadlines, and communicate progress and deliverables to supervisors, demonstrating effective time management in a fast-paced environment.
- Stay ahead of emerging media platforms and formats such as newsletters, podcasts, and digital news creators, integrating them into earned media strategies.
- Handle multiple high-stakes projects and tight deadlines calmly, providing steady support to account teams.
- Learn quickly and adapt to changing landscapes, and be willing to travel to client locations, headquarters, or staff events as needed to represent the company's media expertise.
