About the Role
This role is responsible for defining how the company is represented in media and to key government stakeholders. The individual will directly lead public relations efforts, turning technical achievements and company milestones into clear, impactful stories understood by defense and AI audiences. They will collaborate across product, business development, and leadership teams to ensure messaging is accurate, consistent, and aligned with strategic goals. This is a formative position with significant influence over the company’s external voice and narrative development.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily media relations, including outreach, pitch execution, and response to incoming press inquiries.
- Develop and sustain relationships with journalists and analysts covering defense technology, national security, and artificial intelligence.
- Lead the planning and timing of public announcements for product developments, partnerships, contracts, and funding events, ensuring message alignment and maximum visibility.
- Write and distribute press materials such as press releases, briefing documents, talking points, and opinion articles, and prepare executives for media and public speaking engagements.
- Simplify complex AI-powered capabilities into accessible, benefit-focused messaging for government officials and non-technical stakeholders.
- Create and update foundational marketing assets, including case studies, website content, and campaign materials, in collaboration with Product, Business Development, and Engineering teams.
- Ensure message consistency across all communication channels to reinforce a unified brand narrative.
- Bridge technical operations and external storytelling by translating advanced work into relatable narratives for media and Department of Defense audiences.
- Support internal and executive communications, including company-wide updates and messaging for key milestones.
- Measure program effectiveness using clear metrics such as media coverage, share of voice, and audience engagement tied to organizational objectives.
