Responsibilities
- Define the long-term technical strategy and architectural roadmap for a global tax technology ecosystem, integrating finance, compliance, product, and engineering priorities.
- Lead the design and ownership of critical systems, with initial focus on the tax platform, ensuring scalability, security, resilience, observability, and adaptability at global scale.
- Create comprehensive technical solutions spanning internal platforms, tax processing engines, APIs, data pipelines, and select external integrations that deliver measurable business impact.
- Collaborate directly with engineering teams on architecture decisions, system design, implementation trade-offs, prototypes, and core components.
- Conduct architectural reviews and provide expert input on system integration, reliability, maintainability, performance, and operational readiness.
- Convert intricate tax regulations, compliance mandates, and financial processes into clear, implementable technical designs for engineering execution.
- Evaluate the existing tax technology environment to uncover risks, redundancies, inefficiencies, and modernization opportunities, then plan practical migration paths.
- Develop and refine architectural standards, engineering best practices, documentation norms, and governance models that enhance quality without impeding delivery speed.
- Drive measurable improvements in system quality, development velocity, cost efficiency, scalability, and developer effectiveness across tax and related FinTech platforms.
- Coach and influence senior engineers, staff engineers, and technical leads to strengthen foundational engineering practices in design, code quality, testing, observability, and production responsibility.
- Articulate complex technical decisions and trade-offs clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including leadership in finance, product, and engineering.
- Leverage artificial intelligence effectively across the development lifecycle, including in the creation and evolution of systems designed under your guidance.
