Xebia is looking for a Senior Java Developer to lead the design and delivery of complex backend features and services for clients across various industries. You will drive technical excellence and mentor junior engineers within our team of 1000+ experts, helping to shape effective technical solutions and raise team standards.

What You'll Do

Lead the design and delivery of complex backend features and services, from concept through deployment and maintenance.
Develop high-quality, production-grade software using Java and Spring Boot, aligned with architectural standards.
Drive technical excellence by applying best practices, clean architecture principles, and robust testing strategies.
Mentor junior and mid-level engineers through code reviews, pair programming, and design guidance.
Improve automation, reliability, performance, and overall engineering practices within the team.
Collaborate closely with product, delivery, and engineering teams to shape effective technical solutions.
Contribute to technical strategy and influence patterns, standards, and long-term scalability.

What We're Looking For

8+ years of professional experience as a software engineer, with a strong focus on backend development in Java.
Expert knowledge of Java and Spring Boot.
Solid understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and scalability principles.
Experience delivering complex systems in cloud environments (AWS or similar).
Hands-on experience with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and observability/monitoring tools.
Strong coding skills and a clear focus on code quality, maintainability, and documentation.
Ability to lead technical discussions and influence design and implementation decisions.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Mentoring mindset and willingness to share knowledge and raise team standards.
Very good English (B2).
Work from the European Union region and a work permit are required.
Candidates must have an active VAT status in the EU VIES registry.
