Definitive Healthcare is hiring a Senior Infrastructure Engineer

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and support infrastructure across public clouds like AWS, Azure, and GCP as well as on-prem data centers, covering compute, storage, networking, and identity management.
  • Oversee hybrid network connectivity using technologies such as VPN, ExpressRoute, or Direct Connect, and Transit Gateway for seamless integration.
  • Enforce infrastructure as code practices using tools like Terraform or Pulumi to ensure consistent, versioned, and reproducible environments.
  • Take part in managing network hardware including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers across data centers and cloud platforms.
  • Troubleshoot and manage LAN/WAN, SD-WAN, VLAN, and routing protocols such as BGP and OSPF across distributed environments.
  • Operate and maintain DNS, DHCP, and IP address management systems in hybrid cloud and on-prem setups.
  • Collaborate with security teams to implement and audit network security policies, firewall configurations, and network segmentation.
  • Administer virtualization platforms such as VMware vSphere or Hyper-V and container orchestration systems like Kubernetes or Docker.
  • Manage and maintain server operating systems at scale, including Linux distributions like RHEL and Ubuntu, and Windows Server.
  • Support observability systems such as Datadog, Splunk, Prometheus, or Grafana for monitoring, alerting, and log aggregation.
  • Participate in on-call rotations to respond to infrastructure incidents, lead resolution efforts, and conduct post-mortem analyses.
  • Assist in developing and testing backup strategies, disaster recovery plans, and business continuity procedures.
  • Work with security teams to manage system vulnerabilities, coordinate patching schedules, and enforce system hardening standards.
  • Identify opportunities to automate manual processes to reduce operational burden and increase infrastructure consistency.
  • Contribute to infrastructure capacity planning and long-term technology roadmap discussions.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and promote knowledge sharing through documentation and team sessions.
