Responsibilities
- Own and evolve the Kubernetes platform on Google Cloud (GKE) using Terraform, treating infrastructure as code as an engineering discipline rather than a set of scripts.
- Build and operate pipelines that ingest market data from multiple vendors, including normalization, validation, and strict format compliance, so the trading engine always has reliable numbers.
- Own deployment, monitoring, alerting, and incident response for live trading systems, ensuring problems in the running book surface early and are resolved quickly.
- Own relational and analytical databases behind trading and research, including schema design, performance, operations, and fault-tolerant, high-availability architecture where appropriate.
- Steward integrations with external data providers and broker connectivity, treating proprietary data as a long-term asset so that a number pulled two years from now remains safe to trade on.
- Reduce operational toil through automation, so the platform requires progressively less manual intervention as it matures.
- Work directly with the CTO and the quant and data engineering team, acting as the clear owner when something breaks during market hours.
