About the Role We are building a new, critical safety product designed to protect people in real-world emergencies. This is a rare opportunity to shape a category-defining product in a large, stagnant market ready for innovation. What You’ll Do Play a pivotal role in re-defining this critical product line Build user-facing experiences and core backend services that power real-time alerts, notifications, and integrations with external monitoring services. Ensure reliability with automated hardware-in-the-loop testing systems. What You’ll Bring 5+ years building production systems Strong backend experience (Go preferred) Experience with AWS or similar cloud platforms Comfortable working across the stack: backend, frontend, and device Solid understanding of distributed systems and APIs Startup mindset; able to move fast and iterate with product teams Bonus Points Experience with embedded systems or IoT Familiarity with HIL testing Experience with real-time or safety-critical systems Culture and Values Self-motivated problem solver: At Verkada, you will tackle large, complex problems with no clear answers.
