Blue Ocean Media | Digitale Leute is hiring a Senior Fullstack Engineer to build simple, elegant software from complex requirements for a fast-growing live product. You'll be part of a movement driving real change, focusing on impact within a small, empowered team that owns a product end-to-end.
What You'll Do
- Build and maintain a high-quality, maintainable codebase written in Elixir with Phoenix, LiveView, TailwindCSS and daisyUI.
- Collaborate closely with Product, Design, and other Engineers to find smart solutions balancing speed, quality, and simplicity.
- Shape architecture for reliability, scalability, and developer happiness.
- Take ownership of privacy and security aspects from the start, including encryption, data separation, and GDPR compliance.
- Contribute ideas to improve development process, stack, and team culture.
What We're Looking For
- Several years of professional experience as a Fullstack Engineer, ideally with Elixir or another Ruby.
- Care about code quality, balancing pragmatism with craftsmanship.
- Love working in small, empowered teams where you can shape not just the product but also how it’s built.
- Come with a product mindset: explore unclear requirements instead of waiting for perfect specs.
- Understand the basics of GDPR and secure software design.
- Curious, reflective, and enjoy learning – including from failed experiments.
- Professional-level English required.
- Can work remote, but hybrid in Berlin would be ideal.
Nice to Have
- Experience with handling sensitive data, ideally health-related data.
- Solid understanding of encryption, key management, and data privacy.
- Knowledge of DevOps and hosting environments.
- Familiar with Shape Up as an outcome-driven, autonomy-based approach for agile software development.
- German language is a plus.
