Loopio Inc. is hiring a Senior Frontend Software Developer (UX Engineer) to take ownership of our internal React-based design system and evolve it to meet the needs of a growing product. In this role, you will define the structure for a scalable, maintainable, and accessible UI, champion inclusive design, and provide technical leadership on front-end architecture across the department.
What You'll Do
- Maintain and evolve our component library and contribute to our overall design system.
- Define and maintain the structure, components, and patterns for a scalable, maintainable, and accessible UI.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with designers, product managers, and developers to deliver a cohesive user experience.
- Provide technical leadership on front-end architecture, ensuring code quality, performance, and adherence to best practices.
- Champion accessibility (A11y) by implementing and advocating for inclusive design principles.
- Document, educate, and enable other developers to use and contribute to the design system effectively.
- Guide and review contributions to the design system, ensuring consistency and quality.
- Stay current with UI/UX trends, tools, and technologies to continually improve our product and development processes.
- Collaborate on usability testing and feedback loops to validate design system improvements.
What We're Looking For
- 6+ years of professional software development experience.
- Strong emphasis on React and modern front-end JavaScript.
- Advanced knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, and responsive design best practices.
- Proven experience designing and implementing scalable, maintainable UI architectures.
- Strong grasp of user-centred design, information architecture, and visual design principles.
- Experience working with and/or contributing to design systems.
- Solid understanding of accessibility guidelines (WCAG) and inclusive design.
- Familiarity with front-end testing practices (unit, E2E, regression).
- A collaborative mindset and ability to work closely with non-engineering stakeholders.
- Experience mentoring other developers through code reviews, pair programming, or coaching.
- Exposure to Agile workflows (Scrum or Kanban).
