About the Role

This role is responsible for developing financial models and analytical frameworks to optimize merchandising decisions. The analyst will collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess product performance, forecast trends, and improve profitability through quantitative analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain financial models to evaluate product profitability
  • Analyze sales trends and inventory turnover to guide purchasing decisions
  • Produce regular reports on key performance metrics for leadership review
  • Identify opportunities to improve margin through pricing and promotional strategies
  • Collaborate with merchandising teams to align financial goals with product selection
  • Forecast demand using historical data and market indicators
  • Evaluate vendor performance and cost structures
  • Support budgeting and forecasting cycles with detailed analytics
  • Monitor competitive pricing and market positioning
  • Translate complex financial data into actionable business insights
  • Lead ad hoc analyses for strategic initiatives
  • Assess risks and opportunities related to inventory levels
  • Optimize product mix based on financial and sales performance
  • Track and report on return on investment for merchandising campaigns
  • Improve data accuracy and reporting efficiency across systems
  • Utilize SQL and Excel for data extraction and analysis
  • Work with data science teams to enhance predictive models
  • Ensure compliance with financial reporting standards
  • Present findings to stakeholders across departments
  • Drive continuous improvement in analytics processes
  • Manage dashboards to track key merchandising KPIs
  • Support audits and financial reviews as needed
  • Evaluate seasonality and lifecycle trends in product lines
  • Assist in developing automated reporting tools
