Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of software engineers, quality assurance professionals, and technical leads
- Collaborate with senior leadership to define and execute engineering strategy
- Drive technical decision-making across distributed systems and development workflows
- Ensure delivery of high-quality software on schedule and at scale
- Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement
- Oversee project planning, resource allocation, and performance tracking
- Support career development and performance evaluations for team members
- Promote best practices in software architecture, testing, and deployment
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to align engineering goals with business objectives
- Manage team structure and adapt to evolving product and organizational needs
- Champion engineering excellence and operational discipline
- Identify and mitigate technical and team-level risks
- Improve engineering processes to increase efficiency and reduce bottlenecks
- Evaluate and integrate new tools and technologies
- Maintain clear communication across time zones and regions
- Ensure alignment with security, compliance, and scalability standards
- Lead incident response and post-mortem reviews when necessary
- Balance short-term delivery with long-term technical health
- Encourage knowledge sharing and documentation practices
- Support hiring and onboarding of new engineering talent
