About the Role
This position involves designing and maintaining core services that power user profiles, identity management, and secure access across the platform, ensuring reliability and scalability for millions of users.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable backend systems for user identity and access management
- Collaborate with product teams to deliver secure and seamless user experiences
- Improve reliability and performance of critical user platform services
- Develop APIs and infrastructure used across multiple product domains
- Work closely with security teams to enforce authentication and authorization standards
- Diagnose and resolve complex production issues in distributed systems
- Contribute to long-term technical strategy for user data consistency and availability
- Optimize systems for low latency and high throughput
- Support incident response and on-call rotations for critical services
- Drive adoption of best practices in code quality and system observability
- Participate in architectural reviews and cross-team technical alignment
- Mentor engineers and promote a culture of technical excellence
- Evaluate and integrate new technologies to improve system capabilities
- Ensure compliance with privacy regulations and data protection standards
- Monitor system health and proactively address potential risks
- Contribute to documentation and knowledge sharing across engineering teams
Nice to Have
- Experience with identity providers and single sign-on systems
- Background in building user-facing platform services
- Familiarity with OAuth, OpenID Connect, and SAML
- Knowledge of data privacy frameworks and regulations
- Experience scaling systems to support tens of millions of users
- Contributions to open-source projects related to identity or security
- Prior work in high-growth consumer technology companies
