AECOM is hiring a Senior Engineer - Structural

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing and managing the implementation of construction documents on-site
  • Supporting discipline engineers across other projects as needed
  • Providing technical support to the ARE/RE
  • Coordinating with the design office, contractor, and client representatives to ensure construction aligns with approved plans and specifications
  • Analysing applicable codes, standards and project contract documents
  • Monitoring construction activities to ensure compliance with contract documents
  • Interpreting or clarifying contract documents for Contractors
  • Maintaining and preparing a variety of records, including daily/weekly progress reports, material accounting records, change orders and record drawings
  • Providing assistance to the Project Engineer/Site Engineer
  • Supervising, directing and coordinating the inspection team
  • Conducting weekly meetings with inspectors and Project Engineer
  • Ensuring that responses are complete and in compliance with the contract documents
  • Working with Project Engineer to resolve problems when found
  • Auditing inspections for conformity to contract documents and contractor submitted plans
  • Assisting the Senior Discipline engineer to identify, respond to or evaluate technical issues to maintain the schedule
  • Highlighting any violations to construction/engineering related issues on site through issuance of NCRs
  • Attending progress review meetings and coordination meetings to assist the Project Lead/Senior Engineer in resolving any site issues, such as discrepancies in project’s drawings
  • Participating in the coordination and monitoring of snagging and project handover
  • Providing support to the Resident Engineer/Team lead to ensure projects run smoothly by providing expert knowledge and advice
  • Liaising with the Design Engineer on modifications if required
  • Giving daily site reports and highlighting issues that arise on site to the Project Lead
  • Contributing in the preparation of all kinds of reports and as directed by the project lead
  • Monitoring Health and Safety of the construction works and reporting on the same
  • Stopping construction works if unsafe practices are being followed

Requirements

  • Extensive experience and specialization in Contract Compliance, Quality Control (QC) and Quality Assurance (QA) inspection of structural scope related to the project
  • Ability to analyse applicable codes, standards and project contract documents
  • Experience in monitoring construction activities to ensure compliance with contract documents
  • Skill in interpreting or clarifying contract documents for Contractors
  • Experience in maintaining and preparing records such as daily/weekly progress reports, material accounting records, change orders and record drawings
  • Proven ability to supervise, direct and coordinate inspection teams
  • Experience conducting weekly meetings with inspectors and Project Engineer
  • Ability to audit inspections for conformity to contract documents and contractor submitted plans
  • Experience assisting Senior Discipline engineers in identifying, responding to or evaluating technical issues
  • Ability to issue Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) when violations are found
  • Experience attending progress review and coordination meetings
  • Proven participation in snagging and project handover processes
  • Ability to liaise with Design Engineers on modifications
  • Experience preparing daily site reports and highlighting site issues
  • Contribution to report preparation as directed by project lead
  • Monitoring Health and Safety of construction works and reporting issues
  • Authority to stop construction works if unsafe practices are being followed
