Responsibilities
- Lead the design of plumbing systems including domestic water supply, hot water recirculation, sanitary and vent piping, storm and roof drainage, fuel gas lines, and specialized process plumbing as needed.
- Develop design criteria, perform hydraulic calculations for pipe sizing and pressure loss, select pumps, create schematics and P&IDs, riser diagrams, equipment schedules, and technical specifications.
- Generate coordinated BIM and CAD documentation using Revit and AutoCAD, conduct clash detection, and resolve interfaces with architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and fire protection disciplines.
- Interpret and apply relevant codes and standards such as IPC, UPC, ASPE, ASME, ASTM, and backflow prevention requirements, along with client-specific design criteria.
- Establish strategies for system reliability and maintainability, including redundancy, isolation valving, maintenance access, leak detection, and monitoring systems.
- Conduct quality assurance and quality control reviews, lead design reviews, identify risks, and manage change control throughout all project phases.
- Support procurement and construction activities by reviewing contractor submittals, responding to requests for information, evaluating cost-saving alternatives, and providing field and commissioning support.
- Prepare technical documentation, engineering calculations, cost estimates, and scope definitions while ensuring traceability and configuration management.
- Assist in business development by contributing to proposals, effort estimates, project schedules, and resource planning for new pursuits and ongoing projects.
- Promote safety, quality, and sustainable design practices, with emphasis on water efficiency, reuse strategies, and industry best practices.
