Responsibilities
- Conducts assignments in the mechanical engineering field
- Has a very good understanding of building codes and standards
- Can integrate and coordinate designs with other built environment disciplines
- Understands the statutory processes associated with the built environment and construction industry
- Plans, organises and manages moderately complex projects
- Makes recommendations on alternate solutions to engineering problems
- Prepares and presents technical plans and reports
- Institutes changes in methods, designs or equipment
- May be Project leader on medium sized projects
- Collects and analyses information from discipline and interdisciplinary project BIM models
- Fully develops the design content by applying both design and technical knowledge to ensure the production of high-quality outputs by following project timelines
- Participates in the interdisciplinary reviews of project deliverables, including BIM spatial reviews (virtual walkthroughs and clash detection)
- Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations, specifications, sketches, diagrams, specific discipline BIM models, drawings, reports, and tender documents
- Identifies discrepancies in results and proposes an approach to solving new problems encountered
- Performs work under the agreed-upon budget and schedule with moderate supervision
- Maintains and develops the highest level of technical skills and abilities, ensuring the quality of model production by BIM/CAD teams for accuracy to design instructions
- Coordinates with authorities for scheme approvals
