Responsibilities
- Act as a system-level expert focused on product support for new product development.
- Collaborate with hardware, electrical, controls, process, and software engineering teams to become the system-level authority on new products under development.
- Advise engineering during the design phase on key customer requirements and needs, including preventive maintenance service tasks, design for service, and design for manufacturability.
- Own the first build and test of new products in the development lab, working closely with engineering teams to provide real-time feedback on issues and recommend solutions.
- Develop procedures and document best known methods for service, preventive, and corrective maintenance tasks.
- Own first in fab (alpha or beta) customer shipments.
- Drive customer fab readiness, including facilities setup, installation, and startup through production qualification.
- Provide detailed reporting of field issues for new products deployed in the field.
- Drive and own customer issues on new products during the alpha build and test phase as well as during beta testing at customer sites.
- Develop critical spare parts lists for new products, ensuring initial stocking levels are set and ready for new product shipments.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, preferably with epitaxy process equipment in a semiconductor equipment manufacturer.
- Fluency in Japanese and business-level communication skills in English.
- Ability to travel internationally, with travel ranging from 25% to 50% depending on the product development cycle.
Nice to Have
- Experience with ALD, CVD, or etch processes is also considered.
