Responsibilities
- Collaborate with development teams to embed security into every phase of software design and implementation.
- Engage in system architecture and design evaluations to detect potential security issues and help engineers implement effective, scalable countermeasures.
- Write and deliver production-ready code in Rust and other relevant languages for critical security components.
- Develop secure communication protocols, authentication frameworks, and cryptographic systems tailored for decentralized environments.
- Analyze upcoming features for potential security impacts and propose design enhancements prior to development.
- Conduct thorough code reviews with a focus on identifying exploitable weaknesses and promoting secure coding practices.
- Lead efforts to fix security flaws identified through internal audits, third-party penetration tests, or external assessments.
- Partner with engineering groups to align security initiatives with performance, usability, and product goals.
- Build and refine security mechanisms for peer-to-peer networks, distributed algorithms, edge AI processing, and inter-device messaging.
- Act as the primary security liaison for the IDN team, guiding secure design, implementation, and incident response activities.
- Perform structured threat modeling for new platform features, network services, and architectural updates.
- Examine security aspects of node discovery, identity management, trust bootstrapping, relay operations, NAT traversal, encrypted data exchange, and distributed consensus models.
- Evaluate system resistance to malicious participants, protocol exploitation, unauthorized access, data tampering, and other threats inherent in decentralized architectures.
- Work alongside architects and technical leads to identify and mitigate security risks during early design stages before development starts.
