About the Role

Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of electrical substation systems
- Conduct feasibility studies and technical assessments for power infrastructure
- Prepare detailed engineering drawings and specifications
- Ensure compliance with Irish and international electrical standards
- Coordinate with civil, structural, and control engineers on integrated designs
- Manage project deliverables within schedule and budget constraints
- Perform load flow, short circuit, and protection coordination studies
- Review contractor submittals and construction documentation
- Support procurement processes for electrical equipment
- Conduct site inspections and construction oversight
- Lead technical meetings with clients and stakeholders
- Develop and review protection relay settings
- Ensure adherence to safety and environmental regulations
- Mentor junior engineering staff and provide technical guidance
- Prepare cost estimates and project proposals
- Integrate renewable energy sources into substation designs
- Troubleshoot technical issues during construction and commissioning
- Maintain quality assurance and control procedures
- Utilize engineering software for modeling and simulation
- Support permitting and regulatory approval processes
