The Senior Electrical Engineer will provide consulting services for the design, startup, and maintenance of electrical systems and equipment across Qnity Electronics' global plant sites. This role involves solving technical challenges, ensuring regulatory compliance, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to support both operations and capital projects.
What You'll Do
- Provide consulting services in support of design, startup, and maintenance of electrical systems and equipment across Qnity Electronics
- Offer technical support to plant operations and capital projects
- Network with Qnity resources and cross-functional teams to achieve timely solutions to business problems
- Specify equipment per regulatory compliance
- Solve problems related to equipment performance and reliability across multiple voltage classes (480V to 35 kV)
- Plan and direct E&I personnel during startup of manufacturing facilities
- Coordinate E&I field activities to troubleshoot and correct issues
- Evaluate and maintain existing electrical equipment through testing to improve reliability and accuracy
What We're Looking For
- BS or MS in Electrical Engineering
- 10 or more years of experience in the Chemical Process or related industries with working knowledge of electrical equipment
- Demonstrated ability to be proactive, self-motivated, and function independent of supervision
- Demonstrated oral and written communication skills – must be able to communicate with management, constituency, vendors, etc., in a productive and sharing manner
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to plan, prioritize, and implement multiple concurrent projects or activities
- Knowledge of related plant operational practices such as Process Safety Management and MIQA
- Statistical Engineering – Six Sigma analysis
- Intimate knowledge in applying electrical Codes, Standards, & Regulations (NEC, NFPA, UL, FM, NETA, etc.)
- Fault Analysis skills
- Advanced working knowledge of short circuit, coordination & arc-flash studies; specifically, SKM Power Tools Software
- Medium-Voltage cable expertise including cable splicing & terminating
- Ability to read drawings
- Application of Codes, Standards, & Regulations
