Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a regional logistics strategy for Asia-Pacific that supports global supply chain goals and local manufacturing needs.
- Enhance the material warehouse network across key APAC countries including China, Thailand, Malaysia, and the Philippines to meet procurement and production demands.
- Collaborate with logistics partners to integrate automation and digital solutions that improve performance, efficiency, and reduce costs.
- Oversee international logistics operations involving import/export procedures, customs compliance, free-trade zones, and bonded warehouse activities.
- Ensure adherence to regional trade laws, export restrictions, and audit requirements across APAC markets.
- Proactively manage risks associated with geopolitical changes, tariff fluctuations, and evolving local regulations.
- Lead the design of regional transportation strategies across air, ocean, and ground freight with focus on cost, delivery speed, and risk mitigation.
- Manage and improve relationships with third-party logistics providers and freight forwarders to support regional operations.
- Work with procurement and logistics partners to balance cost, service performance, and capacity needs.
- Drive excellence in inbound material handling, warehousing, and logistics between manufacturing sites.
- Maintain high delivery reliability to internal manufacturing facilities with minimal delay and precise inventory tracking.
- Implement ongoing improvement programs to lower costs, increase productivity, and enhance logistics operations.
- Lead the rollout and refinement of logistics technologies such as transportation and warehouse management systems, control towers, and real-time tracking in coordination with 3PLs and global centers of excellence.
- Apply advanced analytics, artificial intelligence, and machine learning to automate and streamline logistics workflows.
- Support financial planning and cost optimization for the APAC logistics function, including budgeting and forecasting.
- Track and analyze key performance indicators including freight expenses, warehousing costs, and inventory precision.
- Identify long-term cost-saving opportunities without compromising service quality.
- Collaborate with regional manufacturing, procurement, and logistics partners to manage daily operations and strategic initiatives.
- Ensure logistics readiness in APAC for the launch of new products.
- Serve as the primary link between global transportation and trade operations teams and regional APAC logistics functions.
- Build and lead a capable, diverse logistics team across the region.
- Develop leadership talent in key APAC markets to strengthen local capabilities.
- Promote a work culture centered on agility, accountability, and innovation.
