Facility Performance Consulting Limited is hiring a Senior Digital Buildings Engineer

Responsibilities

  • Ensure seamless integration, performance optimization, and security of cloud-hosted applications.
  • Diagnose technical issues, monitor system performance, and align cloud infrastructure with business goals.
  • Deliver engineering services and projects, both technical and non-technical, as defined in client agreements.
  • Manage individual workload and escalate challenges to management when necessary.
  • Evaluate and interpret existing building systems such as BMS, HVAC, lighting, energy systems, and IoT devices.
  • Document and map building system architectures to support cloud migration planning.
  • Configure cloud environments to ingest and process data from building technologies.
  • Design and execute data transfer protocols from on-site systems to cloud platforms, maintaining data accuracy and consistency.
  • Utilize cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud to deploy storage, compute, and data processing resources.
  • Enforce compliance with cybersecurity standards and data privacy regulations during data transmission and storage.
  • Apply encryption, authentication mechanisms, and access controls to safeguard operational data.
  • Analyze system data to produce actionable insights on efficiency, sustainability, and operations.
  • Produce comprehensive operational reports for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with IT, facilities, and operations teams to understand system needs and limitations.
  • Offer technical guidance and training to client staff on cloud-based building management platforms.
  • Conduct testing before and after system onboarding to verify data quality and functionality.
  • Troubleshoot problems in data flow, system interoperability, and network connections.
  • Keep detailed records of onboarding procedures, configurations, and cloud settings.
  • Produce regular updates on onboarding progress, system health, and performance indicators.
  • Create and maintain test plans, procedures, and acceptance criteria for field devices.
  • Coordinate the integration and qualification of sensors, meters, controllers, gateways, and other field devices.
  • Validate communication between devices using protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, MQTT, OPC UA, and proprietary interfaces.
  • Perform UDMI testing to ensure device metadata, point lists, and telemetry structures meet UDMI standards.
  • Confirm proper use of UDMI schemas, message formats, and data models in implementations.
  • Verify telemetry publishing, state reporting, configuration updates, and command execution via UDMI
