Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors is hiring a Senior DevOps Engineer to design, build, and maintain the infrastructure and tools that empower our mobile app developers. You will manage CI/CD pipelines and event-driven services supporting large-scale mobile workloads, optimizing for speed, reliability, and developer productivity.
What You'll Do
- Design, develop, maintain, and operate CI/CD infrastructure and related software services.
- Build and improve event-driven services supporting large-scale mobile app workloads.
- Collect and analyze metrics across the software development lifecycle to enhance pipeline performance and reliability.
- Collaborate with mobile app engineers to streamline development and deployment processes.
- Advocate and implement best practices in infrastructure, security, and cost optimization.
- Share knowledge through talks, trainings, and documentation to support team growth.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in systems administration and/or software development.
- Expertise in cloud-based Linux and/or macOS server administration with a focus on CI/CD workloads.
- Proficiency in building containerized and serverless applications using modern languages such as Python, Swift, Kotlin, Rust, or Golang.
- Strong understanding of cloud networking, virtualization, storage, observability, security, and cost management.
- Passion for infrastructure-as-code, declarative programming, and immutable infrastructure concepts.
- Experience with deployment strategies including Blue/Green, Canary, or Progressive Delivery.
- Excellent communication skills to engage with customers, peers, and leadership.
Nice to Have
- Experience with distributed build caches, remote build execution, automated testing of infrastructure code, self-hosted runners (e.g., gitlab-runner), and Kubernetes cluster operations on cloud platforms.
