Responsibilities
- Manage, monitor, and enhance enterprise-wide Microsoft SQL Server systems to ensure reliability and efficiency.
- Establish and advocate for organization-wide database standards, governance policies, and technical best practices.
- Support the development of data architectures by contributing to decisions on integration methods, schema design, data quality, storage, and performance.
- Deploy, configure, update, and oversee SQL Server instances and associated database technologies.
- Lead the development and refinement of backup, restore, and disaster recovery protocols to maintain business resilience.
- Enforce database security measures in compliance with corporate policies and regulatory standards.
- Lead initiatives in performance optimization, query tuning, data archiving, and end-to-end data lifecycle management.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on SQL scalability and advanced storage solutions, guiding improvement projects.
- Define non-functional requirements for new systems during the early design stages.
- Engage in technical design reviews to represent operational needs and platform capabilities.
- Assist in creating detailed solution designs for emerging products and technology rollouts.
- Deliver expert troubleshooting, consultation, and technical assistance to development and IT operations teams.
- Enhance outdated database systems through assessment, modernization, and improved operational processes.
- Transfer expertise to infrastructure colleagues via documentation, technical briefings, and collaborative problem-solving.
