Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors is hiring a Senior Data Scientist, Product (Remote - US)

About the Role

Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors is helping Thumbtack hire a Senior Data Scientist, Product for a remote position in the US. You will partner with engineers, product managers, and designers to shape impactful product decisions through data analysis, experiment design, and modeling.

What You'll Do

  • Conduct quantitative research on user behaviors, product flows, and business trends to identify opportunities and guide next steps.
  • Design and analyze experiments and tests for causal inference in collaboration with technical and business teams.
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to scope new features, model potential impacts, and recommend business logic improvements.
  • Define and monitor key metrics, investigate significant changes, and propose solutions.
  • Develop expertise in relevant product areas to inform deeper analysis and insight generation.
  • Contribute to data culture through best practices in data table design, accessibility, and maintenance.
  • Collaborate with, mentor, and support the recruitment of team members.

What We're Looking For

  • 4+ years of experience in data science, analytics, or economics.
  • Strong SQL expertise and ability to work with complex datasets.
  • Proven track record in experiment design, analysis, and clear communication of results.
  • Experience collaborating with stakeholders across Product, Design, Engineering, and Marketing, managing competing priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to influence cross-functional decisions.
  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral degree in a technical field such as Statistics, Engineering, Analytics, Math, Computer Science, Operations Research, or Economics.

  • Compensation range: $147,300 – $190,600 for SF Bay Area, San Jose, NYC, or Seattle; $132,600 – $171,600 for Austin, Washington DC, CA, MA, NJ, or WA states; $125,200 – $162,000 for all other U.S. locations.

This is a remote position open to candidates anywhere in the United States.
