Responsibilities
- Oversee and enhance the performance, security, and uptime of database systems including SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and Oracle
- Create and sustain efficient database structures, indexes, and partitioning strategies to support growth and speed
- Conduct ongoing monitoring, execute backups, manage recovery processes, and prepare disaster recovery plans
- Enforce security protocols such as user permissions, data encryption, and activity logging
- Diagnose and resolve database performance bottlenecks and refine query efficiency
- Maintain adherence to data governance frameworks, security policies, and regulatory standards
- Engage in daily team meetings, set task priorities, and stay aligned with organizational goals
- Convert business needs into practical data engineering actions
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure Power BI and other data tools fulfill business requirements
- Guide junior team members and promote strong data management and reporting standards
