Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors is looking for a Senior Data Engineer to lead the design and development of the core data infrastructure that empowers critical business decisions and company growth. You will focus on scalable data pipelines, canonical datasets, and data architecture in a fast-growing, innovative environment.
What You'll Do
- Design, build, and maintain scalable, reliable data pipelines ingesting product and event data into enterprise data stores.
- Develop canonical datasets tracking key product and business metrics including user growth, engagement, and revenue.
- Architect robust systems for large-scale batch data processing and enhance monitoring of workflows.
- Lead decisions on data architecture, tooling, and engineering best practices.
- Partner cross-functionally with teams such as Infrastructure, Product, Marketing, Finance, and Go-To-Market to understand and fulfill data requirements.
- Provide product feedback by actively using and testing new data infrastructure and AI technologies.
What We're Looking For
- Expert proficiency in SQL and Python with at least 5 years of data engineering experience and 8+ years in software engineering roles overall.
- Proficiency in one or more additional core data engineering languages such as Scala, Java, or Rust.
- Deep understanding of data infrastructure design and architecture.
- Hands-on experience with modern orchestration tools like Airflow, Dagster, or Prefect.
- Strong prioritization skills and a bias for action in fast-paced environments.
