Responsibilities
- Lead analytics initiatives presented directly to clients by developing, maintaining, and refining dashboards and reports used in regular business reviews and on-demand requests.
- Collaborate with customer success to interpret client goals, convert business inquiries into analytical models, and deliver data-driven insights that deepen client engagement.
- Create and manage robust LookML models, explores, and dashboards in Looker, acting as the primary expert for the platform within the analytics team.
- Develop advanced SQL queries across Redshift, Aurora/MySQL, and Athena to process and analyze large-scale datasets.
- Build Python scripts and notebooks to handle complex data transformations, automate reporting, and support analytical processes beyond SQL capabilities.
- Integrate AI tools such as Claude, GitHub Copilot, and Cursor into daily workflows to speed up query writing, code creation, data exploration, and documentation.
- Identify and promote AI-driven solutions in analytics, including automated anomaly detection, natural language summaries, predictive reporting, and AI-assisted narrative generation for client reviews.
- Conduct independent data investigations to uncover patterns, outliers, and opportunities, delivering findings with clear business implications and recommended actions.
- Establish and track data quality indicators for client reports to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and timely delivery.
- Work with data engineering to define data model specifications, verify pipeline outputs, and enhance the underlying analytical data structures.
- Document reporting logic, data definitions, and analysis methods to support cross-team knowledge sharing and self-service analytics.
- Help shape the organization's BI strategy by improving dashboard governance, naming standards, and LookML version control practices.
