Responsibilities
- Evaluate creditworthiness of applicants using financial data and risk frameworks
- Develop and refine credit scoring models to improve lending accuracy
- Collaborate with data science and engineering teams to implement risk tools
- Monitor portfolio performance and identify emerging risk trends
- Support underwriting policy development with data-backed insights
- Conduct deep-dive analyses on delinquency and default patterns
- Partner with compliance to ensure adherence to regulatory standards
- Present risk findings to senior stakeholders
- Optimize credit decision workflows for efficiency and scalability
- Contribute to stress testing and scenario analysis for lending products
Requirements
- Proven experience in credit risk analysis or related financial roles
- Strong understanding of consumer lending and credit underwriting principles
- Proficiency in SQL or similar data querying languages
- Experience with statistical modeling and risk scorecards
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements in financial services
- Ability to translate complex data into actionable business insights
- Solid written and verbal communication skills
- Experience working in agile, cross-functional teams
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, mathematics, or related field
- Minimum of 5 years in credit risk, underwriting, or analytics
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in a quantitative discipline
- Experience in fintech or digital banking environments
- Knowledge of machine learning applications in credit risk
- Exposure to Basel or IFRS 9 frameworks
- Track record of improving credit decision systems
- Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms
- Experience mentoring junior analysts
