Responsibilities
- Evaluate credit scoring metrics and risk ratings to quickly identify key credit strengths and weaknesses for timely decisions.
- Support credit decisions using scoring models and supplementary data from commercial and personal credit bureaus and web resources such as D&B, Experian, Moody’s, S&P, Fitch, A.M. Best, NAIC, AHD, SEC, and FDIC filings.
- Accurately spread and analyze financial statements, incorporating relevant financial metrics into credit reviews.
- Review and decide on transactions within assigned authority, including recommendations from junior analysts, and make recommendations for transactions exceeding that authority.
- Monitor credit lines and complete renewals in a timely manner.
- Structure and document credit approvals in line with risk management guidelines.
- Review and approve changes to contract terms and conditions within assigned authority.
- Advise the sales team on pending applications and facilitate obtaining credit and financial information to resolve them.
- Regularly update system comments to keep all parties informed of application statuses.
- Ensure dealer and customer concerns are resolved promptly and appropriately without compromising risk standards.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external sales teams and end users.
- Negotiate complex credits to secure favorable lease structures that win business while maintaining credit standards.
- Serve as a mentor to less experienced or junior credit team members.
- Complete assigned training on or before the due date with required proficiency.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Contribute to team and individual goals, including turnaround times, approval ratios, delinquency and charge-off targets, proactive follow-up on pending applications, timely resolution of appeals, and collaboration with IT for credit scoring maintenance and updates.
