Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor compliance staff assigned to the NYC BEST program, providing ongoing supervision and performance guidance.
- Track team performance, delegate responsibilities, and ensure timely completion of assigned deliverables.
- Manage daily operations for compliance advisors and support the execution of NYC BEST programs and services.
- Build trust with business owners by initiating proactive communication and clarifying city regulations, deadlines, and required actions.
- Visit small businesses on-site to deliver personalized advice on compliance and address unique operational challenges.
- Serve as a representative at external events, meetings, and workshops to promote NYC BEST initiatives.
- Support the development of reports, presentations, and briefing materials for internal leadership and outside partners.
- Lead projects and attend meetings or community events across all five boroughs as required.
- Participate in evening and weekend engagements when necessary.
- Contribute to data analysis efforts to strengthen business outreach and improve program effectiveness.
- Develop and sustain partnerships with community organizations, business groups, and city agencies to extend program reach.
- Help design and update training resources, manuals, and instructional materials for staff development.
- Create and refine compliance protocols to improve staff training and strengthen standard operating procedures.
- Maintain collaborative relationships with agency partners, ensuring clear and timely coordination on shared goals.
- Review case documentation to verify accuracy, completeness, and appropriate follow-up actions.
- Address escalated customer concerns and provide direct client support when needed.
- Analyze storefront trends across industries and boroughs through research and field observation.
- Identify opportunities to enhance NYC BEST’s impact in targeted sectors through strategic recommendations.
- Use qualitative and quantitative insights to shape new policies and operational practices.
- Work with leadership to assess training needs in response to evolving industry regulations.
- Oversee compliance advisors with a focus on workflow management, supervision, and career growth.
- Monitor and evaluate case load management to ensure consistent service quality and case handling.
- Collaborate with senior leaders to use data for planning outreach and distributing regulatory updates.
- Support administrative functions, including timekeeping oversight and adherence to personnel policies.
- Conduct onboarding sessions for new hires covering program services, regulations, resources, and compliance procedures.
